TRADITIONAL SLIDING DOOR

Series 1000

The Series 1000 is ideal for projects that cannot afford the Series 3000 yet want Fleetwood over common doors.

Product Highlights

Superior Characteristics
Thermal Conductivity:

Aluminum is thermally stable in that it does not swell or shrink when the temperature or humidity levels change. Very little energy is lost through the frame material but in the case of wood and vinyl, energy is lost through the frame and vent seams after years of expansion and contraction.

Low Maintenance:

While every lifestyle product requires upkeep, Fleetwood products are resilient in even the extreme environments and come with a Lifetime Warranty.

Energy, Noise & Security
High Efficiency Glass:

Modern glazing from Fleetwood coupled with increasingly efficient insulation techniques allows a minimalist design with huge glass that does not compromise energy consumption.

Security Benefits:

Fleetwood endeavors to make products better instead of cheaper, resulting in specialty products that other manufacturers should not attempt. High-security laminated glass (like your car windshield) coupled with robust Fleetwood framing can withstand severe impact.

Noise Control:

Fleetwood chooses to offer a wide range of options instead of limiting features to increase profit and simplify production. Sound dampening upgrades to glass and products are available without affecting the budget or design.

Fire/Heat Resistance:

Steel products are designed and rated to resist fire damage, but these products are limited in function and can be costly. While not rated, Fleetwood aluminum products offer great performance and style and actually help maintain wall integrity during a fire. Typical residential windows (wood or vinyl) add to the flame whereas extruded aluminum retains its form at over 1000 °F.

The “Little” Things
Patented, USA-Made Hardware:

In 2005, Fleetwood began a two-year design project to create a better door latching system. The hardware market choices failed to meet Fleetwood’s quality level so we designed our own. The net result is the Archetype locking system (ALH).

Fit & Finish:

We have gone to great lengths to make the appearance of our doors exceptional. Fleetwood includes cosmetic items that other manufacturers do not in order to cut costs, such as: Pocket Closers, Head Closers, and Sill Closers. These come standard on every custom sliding door by Fleetwood.

Sealed Bearing Roller:

Unlike all other Fleetwood doors, the Series 1000 has a rolling system similar to other sliding doors on the market. Our competitors market their rollers as “precision” as a buzzword, but we disclose the Series 1000 rollers as “sealed bearings” because they are not Swiss in origin and are from the overseas roller industry. Fleetwood still puts a Lifetime Warranty on this roller that most are only comfortable giving a 1-5 year warranty.

Stainless Track Inserts (ATI):

Fleetwood’s track is a solid aluminum base that receives a heavy gauge stainless steel insert that can be easily replaced. Cheaper designs offer a metal cap applied to an aluminum runner or plastic strut.

Enhancing Design
Slim Lines:

Fleetwood’s sliding door interlockers are among the slimmest on the market! Methodical engineering and aluminum thickness allow slender lines without compromising structural integrity.

Crisp, Linear Shapes:

Fleetwood’s design focus is the opposite of mass production. A prime example is the sharp edges and crisp lines created by a balance of hand tooling, automation and dedicated machining.

Robust Screen:

So many other doors are provided with a flimsy screen frame and cheap mesh. Our standard screen is the best sliding screen door made, period! Why? The screen utilizes the same frame and hardware as the glass panels and the highest quality mesh on the market (Ultra Vue).

Budget without Compromise:

Fleetwood’s standard size doors are offered for the homes that do not have the budget for a luxury product, but do not want to compromise their design with a cheaper product. Fleetwood’s Series 1000/1070/1050 doors are offered in a variety of standard sizes/finishes and still maintain great qualities like precision bearing rollers and a Lifetime Warranty.

Proprietary Archetype Hardware

Archetype Rolling System
Dissatisfaction with overseas hardware and our endless pursuit towards “making it better” led us into a partnership with a Swiss bearing manufacturer. As a result of this union, our sliding doors come with rollers assembled in the USA, equipped with authentic Swiss bearings.

Exception: Fleetwood’s entry-level patio door, the Series 1000, has a rolling system similar to other sliding doors on the market. Our competitors market their rollers as “precision bearings” but we disclose the Series 1000 rollers as “sealed bearings” because they are not Swiss in origin and are from the overseas roller industry. Rolex versus Timex.

Archetype Narrow Hardware (ALH)
Frustration with the hardware industry’s “best quality” inspired us to design luxury home quality hardware. The result is our Archetype line of American made locking hardware. (Patent # US 8,186,189 B2)

Below are a few of the exceptional aspects:

  • USA Manufactured
  • Patented
  • Ergonomic Flush Actuator
  • Lock/Unlock Indicator
  • Huge Laminated Hook
  • Adjustable, Stainless Steel Strike Assembly
